Kicking the (Snow) Tires

cadillac cts snow tires

By Rob

We don’t just test our cars. We even test accessories and parts for them. During our recent Kinross trip, we did a lot of testing and subjective evaluation of various snow tires. We folded these into our ongoing testing and confirmation of our AWD system in these extreme winter conditions.

I’ll post a few of the images of what that sort of testing consisted of. Come back in a couple of days for some of those.

One argument I have read is that having the right tires in the snow can be more important than AWD vs RWD vs FWD. It is great that you are testing with a variety of snow tires as well as all-weather tires.

Obviously starting next year the best combo for snow will be a new AWD CTS with snow tires & stabilitrak, with a driver used to driving in snow!

Cadillac should be, can be & will be the premiere automobile in the world!

This is off topic, but this is a driver log. So it should address driving enthusiasts and hopefully racing fans. Cadillac has had considerable success in in GT racing but there seems little substance in any internet or fan connection to that racing. Why?
I have long been an auto racing fan, especially of real cars that you can buy and drive, sports and GT racing is real racing to me.
As a Cadillac fan of it GT racing there seems no way I can get info. The web site is all but dead, there are no fan goodies to buy, and there is no tie in to Cadillac owners with benefits/inside news etc.
BMW's mailing list/promo's has me well targeted. Cadillac does not and I own a CTS-V. Why?

So when will Cadillac post photo's of the coupe? Hopefully the styling won't be so IN-YOUR-FACE like the new oversized CTS grille. Are you guys keeping the beancounters at bay, or will typical GM cheapness find its way into the new Cadillac's? Are you guys also evaluating other competitive near-lux cars to make sure Cadillac stays ahead of the competition?

It's important for Cadillac to get a strong theme on which to advertise. They do make the greatest cars in the world and it's about time it is shouted from the rooftops!

There is only one spot for first place.
