grille 2008 Cadillac cts general motors gm driver's log blog test development

By Rob

I wanted to take a quick break from our Germany posts to recap something really important that occurred recently back in the states. As I mentioned a few weeks ago, we had one of our largest development rides earlier this spring in the Southwest US.

This was what we call the 100-percent ride, meaning that it represents the point where we shift a certain project from “development” mode and turn into “launch” mode.

This ride involved the best and most fully developed cars we’ve had, which is a big moment. It’s one of the biggest rides we have, and involves lots of our top execs in order to verify the car is what we planned.

So Rob, can we be expecting some more consumer ready material any time soon then? Namely brochures, pricing, marketing material to whet our appetites?

Hmm, Rob, with that said, when can we start seeing the 100% ride material such as pricing, brochure, and marketing blitz?

Someone should update the dimensions in your 2008 online ordering guide. It still shows previous gen. dimensions. I sure hope the new model has more rear headroom, though I'll probably wait to see if the wagon version is produced.

When are we going to see the first automotive press review of the new CTS. I'm holding out on buying a new car as my current one has 108K miles on it. I really want the new CTS but am dying to see one in person or at least to read a review of it. Thanks and so far it looks like you've done a great job.

When will a V-Series be available?

It's nice to see an improved wreath and crest in the close-up CTS shot above. In comparison, the '07 DTS grille by is just plain ugly and has no place on ANY car. I can't believe that Cadillac bought off on such a cheap looking badge on their DTS. This is their interpretation of what luxury is supposed to look like?

As soon as you prohibit dealers from installing leather roofs and gold packages with vogue tires you will have a hard time recreating your image. Also get rid of the chrome trim on the windows.Same the cost. It's cheep looking.
