CTS-V Webchat on GMNext

By Ed

Stay tuned for a bunch of new posts coming soon featuring the CTS-V.

In the meantime, here's something cool that you might have missed. This is my boss, John Heinricy, taking live questions in a special webchat that occured the day we had the world premiere of the new CTS-V. Check it out, John addressed many FAQs and had a lively discussion about the car.

Introducing . . . The New Guy

By Ed

It's sort of ironic that I'm the new guy here on the blog. I checked this site out myself many times throughout '07, as Liz and Rob are of course colleagues of mine. So I guess you could say I've moved from the audience onto the podium. Joining them as a new blogger on their site is a cool opportunity that should be fun.

I was thinking of ways to introduce myself here. And it occurred to me that this video might be a good way to do that -- probably better than what I would have written! This was shot last week at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, right after we debuted the upcoming new CTS- V.

In Case You Missed It . . .

By Rob

There’s been a lot of excitement lately around Cadillac. Believe me, even though we in the development world are a little bit removed from that as we work on future cars and feature, it’s still exciting for us to when people finally can see what we’re working on.

Having said that, here’s something you might have missed. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety named the CTS as its Top Safety Pick for 2008, only one of three luxury cars so honored. While this maybe is not as flashy of an award as some of the others, it’s really meaningful to us – lots of consumers respect their findings and this is a real testament to the safety and structure engineers we work with who put incredible analysis and work into the car.

V

By Rob

This is not really my department. But, in case you missed it (and I know you didn’t,) we’re starting to show the CTS-V in the auto show circuit. That started today in at the North American International Auto Show Detroit.

For more info on the car itself, Cadillac.com has an area on that site dedicated to the incredible new V. And click over to Flickr for more pictures of the V.

Check it out, and soon we will blog here about some of the actual development tests.

Apologies

By Rob

Let me begin by apologizing for our absence. I won’t offer a litany of excuses. You know the story: really busy . . . blogging is not really our “day job” . . . lots going on . . . holidays . . . kids . . . etc.

We really value and enjoy this. And we have every intention of keeping it going. Not only that, we’re mulling over some ideas to make it bigger and better. Soon we will add another team member to this site, in fact. As you probably know, we’re working on the next Cadillac, the CTS-V. This is a machine created as a result of an incredible amount of development, not surprisingly. And that should make for some really good stories. One of the key guys leading that development will be checking in here to tell some of those stories. Stay tuned for that.

We’re entering a pretty interesting time in our development. Even beyond the V-Series, lots of things are at happening that we’ll be able to share a lot about different aspects of our process.

Again, we apologize for the unscheduled sabbatical. We’re back and looking forward to more posts as the new year unfolds.
