More CTS-V Video

In this clip, CTS-V Lead Development Engineer Chris Berube talks about the 24-hour testing he and his team performed on the "V" at the GM Proving Grounds in Milford, MI. As Chris points out, the 24-hour test provides a final probe testing of the car before it goes into production under high-stress conditions. - Will Stewart, blog editor

Tell us how the testing goes. This is the coolest car ever, period. V for Victory!

Just caught up on the videos. the new V is super. Doing th e ring with stock tires, everything, and the auto is outstanding.
Well done!

I know It's a Cadillac but it's going to be one of the greatest mUscle cars ever. My 07 V is as fast as most of your Classic muscle cars.

That is nice and all, but when is Cadillac going to make a production car that gets 30+mpg. I just want a Caddy that gets 30+mpg instead of a Malibu with leather.

Why not show up Lexus by claiming the best MPG luxury car?

If MPG is what you want buy a toyota or a honda if raw power and luxury is what you are looking for wait unit 2009 and buy a luxury rocket. Cadillac is living the ad When you turn on your car shouldn't it return the favor? I just cant wait until the new STS-
V. Keep up the good work

How about posting some new info - maybe when can we expect pricing and options at least?

Agreed

Caddy as well as all American car companies need to step up to the plate and stop horsing around. They simply need to build better cars to compete. MPG's, performance, design, engineeering, everything. If not U.S. car companies will be extinct.

GM IS building better cars, rigtht now! I bought a 2008 CTS last October. I have not had one problem with the car and it is an absolute joy to drive. Much better than my 1997 Audi A8 which was in the shop more than it was on the road. Its time to get over the idea that somehow GM can't build good cars. The CTS is the best handling car I have ever owned and I have had Datsun (280Z), Volvo (Turbo), Mercedes (300E), Lexus (LS 400), and the Audi A8. The CTS has been the best of the bunch!

I own an '05 V and can't wait for the new one 550+ HP in a luxury sedan, you gotta be kiddin' me. Sure we want MPG but you can't have your cake and eat it too. The low end CTS has great gas mileage, maybe that appeals more to guys like Jay R. but for me give me performance, and apparently the new V does just that. Great job Cadillac.

This is how I see it. The European crowd are still living in the 60's and 70's when it comes to their view and opinions of American cars. First off, I keep hearing on other blogs and message boards that American cars don't handle well, or they get bad fuel mileage! OK, Now lets go back to the 60's....Yup, no handling and bad fuel mileage is exactly what American cars did back then.... by design, sorta (Not the mileage part, but with big motors/HP comes bad mileage back then) Most of the American cars were designed to go fast in a straight line, all the manufacturers were caught up in the muscle car scene, thats how they sold cars back then. The europeans on the other hand back in the 60's were all about small displacment engines (even if they were 12 cylinders) in light cars that were great in the corners but lacked the overall power of the American cars! Now If we can get the Europeans to pay attention to our cars that get great mileage and are world beaters when it comes to all around performance at a reasonable price (Caddy V series, Corvette, Viper and to a point the Ford GT, etc) like how our cars are manufactured now and get their thoughts away from where we stood during the 60's, then the world would be back on kilter and running like the CTSv series ;-) What you are getting from GM, Ford and Chrysler now are cars that are tops when it comes to peformance and not just down the drag strip but all around, these cars get as good if not better fuel mileage and rarely ever see the line at the dealership for repairs. Right now, why would any American buy something from over seas when you have everything you need right here in the good ole USofA!
