Wonder how the top car brands really stack up on the quality of dealer service? Today, JD Power released its 2010 CSI Study. Cadillac rates as #2 auto brand in the study, and tied for making the largest improvement.

J.D. Power and Associates conducts many quality studies. So let me explain this one: Their CSI study surveys new car owners who have visited dealership service departments in the past year, with a car that is within the first three years of ownership. So this is a measure of satisfaction with dealership service departments, mainly.

In other words, the consistently excellent work of Cadillac dealers continues.

We recently conducted some lengthy interviews, photo shoots and sneak previews of the upcoming CTS Coupe with a couple of major auto media outlets. We’re still a few months away from the launch of the Coupe, so we invited some of these writers to go behind-the-scenes and get a preview of a car that is undergoing final development and testing. The driving aspects were brief and preliminary, not really car reviews as such. But the behind-the-scenes look we provided does serve as a good preview as to what this addition to the lineup is all about.

Cadillac’s new 2011 CTS Coupe goes on sale publicly this summer, but the very first sale will happen Friday, January 22 at the famed Barrett-Jackson Auction. The right to purchase the very first 2011 CTS Coupe, built to order, will be auctioned off at the annual car collector’s mecca in Scottsdale, Az., with the proceeds benefitting the College for Creative Studies (CCS) in Detroit.

CCS is one of America’s leading private four-year art education institutions, featuring a well-recognized program for transportation design.

CTS Coupe intends to be the new focal point of Cadillac’s Art & Science design and technical philosophy, rendered in the sleek form of a luxury sports car.

Cadillac Unveils CTS-V Coupe and XTS Platinum Concept

Yesterday, at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, we unveiled two new cars that express the reality and vision of how Cadillac Art & Science is developing.

The first is the 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe, which takes the CTS Coupe’s design and addsthe world’s fastest reacting suspension (Magnetic Ride Control,) Brembo brakes, Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires, and of course a 556-horsepower supercharged engine. The result is a luxury sports coupe aimed at driving enthusiasts. Production on the CTS-V Coupe begins this summer. Here’s a video that shows it in action:

We also unveiled a new concept car, the Cadillac XTS Platinum Concept. It’s a luxury sedan that suggests a new paradigm for the premium luxury sedan, envisioning the car as a personal headquarters, built for efficiency, luxury and connectivity. Here’s a quick video of the XTS:

CTS Wins the Comparison

Consumer Reports recently compared the Cadillac CTS against other luxury sedans from Audi, Acura, Mercedes-Benz and Lincoln. The CTS received an “Excellent” road test score of 84, four points better than the next-best finisher.

The CTS was praised for its controlled ride, agile handling and strong 3.6L V6 engine.

New Cadillac Concept, CTS-V Coupe To Ring In The New Year

Cadillac will premiere a new concept car at the 2010 North American International Auto Show in Detroit on January 12, the latest in its series of dynamic designs. This latest concept advances the brand’s Art & Science philosophy that has included a series of acclaimed concept cars in recent years, such as the Cadillac Sixteen, CTS Coupe Concept and Converj. The 2011 CTS-V Coupe will make its world premiere in Detroit as well, and will enter into production in the summer of 2010.
