The wait is (almost) over. Last week initial production started for the new CTS-V. We’re building the new V-Series in Lansing, Mich. We expect to start shipping the first “customer” cars to our showrooms later this week.
Garage 419 recently took the CTS-V out got a test Run at Monticello — but not before taking a hot lap with Cadillac engineer and test driver John Heinricy, who also talks about his recent record-setting lap at the Nurburgring in the “V.” This video really shows — and explains — what the CTS-V is capable of. - Will Stewart, blog editor
Here are a couple of clips that show some of the CTS-V’s capabilities on a wide-open track. These clips were taken at the Monticello Motor Club, a private country club in Monticello, NY that is devoted to motorsports.

Back from a too-long break with some exciting news about the Cadillac CTS-V. You can read the press release for all the details, but it basically boils down to this: production on the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V begins this month and initial sales begin as soon as Nov. 1.
We’ll be back next week with more news, photos and some video of the CTS-V in action. Stay tuned.
In this clip, CTS-V Lead Development Engineer Chris Berube talks about the 24-hour testing he and his team performed on the “V” at the GM Proving Grounds in Milford, MI. As Chris points out, the 24-hour test provides a final probe testing of the car before it goes into production under high-stress conditions. – Will Stewart, blog editor
Here’s some more video, this one featuring GM High Performance Vehicle Operations Director John Heinricy talking about his recent record-setting lap at Germany’s Nurburgring (and answering first hand a couple of questions that have popped up here on the blog.) - Will Stewart, blog editor
